There is no better way to enjoy Switzerland than to do the White Knuckle Ride that is the Furka Pass!
The Furka Pass is 2429 metres above sea level and is a high mountain pass through the Swiss Alps. The Pass is a scenic wilderness full of hard slopes and tight hairpin turns some of which are scary – especially if a lorry or a bus is coming in the opposite direction!!! However if your nerves can stand it then be prepared for some of the most spectacular views onto the mountain torrents and the Alp Glaciers. The day we drove it was one of blazing hot sun so it was weird and yet amazing to see ice and snow on the slopes beside the road we were on.
If you are a biker then the Furka Pass must be on your list of roads to drive on – complete bikers heaven!!
Near the top you also have the Hotel Belvedere and the Rhone Glacier and let’s not forget that some scenes from the James Bond movie Goldfinger was also shot on this unique stretch of road.
A thoroughly enjoyable yet nail biting experience!!
